MIMO: optimizing the control of logic channel number

Abstract. In the framework of general approach of space-time processing of radio signals (known as MIMO), analysis was carried out with respect to the efficiency of the logic-channel number control in the presence of return channel. A rigorous solution of the known non-linear equation for optimal number of logic channels was found in the form of a sufficiently simple algorithm. It was found that in frequency bands below 800 MHz the known algorithms used in LTE lost their efficiency. The most efficient in these conditions is a spatial focusing of the beam supported at the present only in the networks of McWiLL standard.
