Equalizer for correction of multiple Doppler distortions of OFDM signals in LTE and McWiLL networks

Abstract. Based on the maximum- likelihood criterion a rule was synthesized to evaluate the subcarriers’ mutual interference (ICI) generated by multiple Doppler’s shifts. An algorithm was proposed for operation of an equalizer that performs the ICI suppression and fading correction. A simulation of the equalizer operation showed the possibility to raise the upper limit of the subscriber movement velocity by a factor of 2 to 2.5 without degradation of the subscriber service quality for LTE and McWiLL standards. It was established that the networks of the McWiLL standard in the basic operating frequency bands have the upper limit of the permissible movement velocities that exceed by a factor of 3 the limit attainable in the network of LTE standard.
